When I got my iPad, I was suckered into getting the accordian-like magnetic protector for the screen (an extra $40, lame) and I think that’s part of the reason why I handle it with such kid gloves.  Now that I’ve seen this, I may have to spend the additional dough to properly protect the thing.  After all, I could use a little something more to do while waiting in the car pool line for Oscar and would like to be able to bring my iPad.  I mean, Pinterest isn’t going to pin things on its own, is it?

My partner and I just finished day one in a new client’s closet.  The first meeting is always great because it’s like we’re starting from scratch. We assess everything and edit and usually shop and go back to style a few days later.  On our list of pieces that would perfectly round out today’s wardrobe is a chunky sweater (just be careful not to get one that is too big, should be chunky but not huge) to be worn with fitted trousers and a heel to the office or skinny jeans/leather leggings and a ballet flat on the weekends.  Our pick, this knit. Although I don’t own it yet, it already makes me feel cozy inside.

I’ve sort of dropped off the face of the earth the last couple of weeks because I’ve been working…a lot (with a couple of nights in Palm Springs thrown in).  I’ve always said that I would love a couple of days a week to do my thing,  so let’s hope it keeps up.  Not to mention it allows me to get all decked out and even wear things that are dry-clean only.  I now need to find a bag that allows me to play both sides.  I know it doesn’t seem like much, but having to switch bags every other day gets old.  So I think I’ll get this – perfect for summer, big enough for snacks and diapers and cool enough to rock on a styling or closet job.  Because these days it’s all about multi-purpose.  With a splash of neon, of course.

I’d much rather wear sneakers or moccasins over flats any day of the week. They’re way more comfortable and much more conducive to literally running after Oscar.  Of course there is an exception to every rule – I’ll be getting these this season.  You know, for when I dress up a bit.

Oscar and I are headed to Denver on Monday to spend the week with my family.  I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to getting out of this 90 degree heat (although Denver isn’t exactly cool right now) and just hanging out with everyone, not to mention having the extra hands around to help.  I’ll be taking nothing more than my denim cut-offs, these chino shorts, t-shirts and a bathing suit but I’ll be going out with friends one night so I’ll have to include a little something special.  Wishing I could get my hands on these sequin pants before I go. Dreamy, aren’t they.

I stumbled upon this amazing cuff on and can’t stop thinking about it. It would be the perfect accessory with a pair of jeans, a grey t-shirt and some killer heels (exactly how I picture Carrie Bradshaw dressing as a mother.  Me, on the other hand, not quite). It’s also the kind of inspiration that got me thinking that I could make one myself. While at the flea market yesterday, I went to my regular jewelry vendor (she has the best costume jewelry ever) and perused a bit. I had already spent the budgeted cash I brought with me so I’ll have to hit her up next month.  In the meantime, at least I have this to look at.

I have a bit of spring fever.  I can always tell when it’s here, because typically it’s March, and I’ve been eating a small pack of Cadbury Mini Eggs most days for the past couple of weeks.  (We don’t celebrate Easter, but we do celebrate Easter candy in a big way).  Lastly, all of the stores are showing amazing florals and blush colors for the season. I do my best to interpret the trends on a budget and especially now, with Oscar, nothing I wear can be too precious or “dry clean only” for fear of an avocado smudge or milk spill. Liberty of London will be launching their line for Target in a few days, J.Crew has some amazing floral pieces, and I recently picked up this blouse from H&M which I’ve already worn with army green chinos and skinny jeans. Looking forward to seeing who else will enable me to get my wardrobe in full bloom.  That will for sure crank up my spring fever a notch or two.  Can’t wait.

This dress is amazing – literally makes me want to hang out in a meadow all day. Image via Marie Claire

As much as I love the dress above, a top like this is more my style.  And I’m in love with her smokey eyes! Image via Marie Claire

I wear a lot of button down shirts, always have, and this one from J Crew fits the floral bill perfectly.

Cardigans are a staple with LA’s mild climate.  Love this one from J Crew.

I have a few striped shirts that are in full rotation, and they will go so perfectly with almost any floral addition.  Not to mention I would give anything to be in this exact spot right now!  Image via Teen Vogue (I’ve been all over Teen Vogue the last few days because I have a freelance gig for them next week).

Thank you, Allison for today’s inspiration.
