Oscar seems to be making the transition from two naps to one, which is a good thing for a couple of reasons.  Number one, it gives us a bigger window, both before and after his mega-nap, to get out and do things and number two, it gives me more time to get myself ready, do whatever I need to do at home and be able to actually get on to the computer for more than five minutes.

With this new schedule, I sometimes have to pack his lunch and give it to him when we get to a class, either just before it starts or right after it’s over. Obviously, things like avocado and noodles are much harder to feed him on the road (read: he uses his hands and makes messes that I never knew were possible) so I’ve become a huge fan of these mashups.  I keep them in the fridge so they’re nice and cold (and double as a make-shift teething aid) and serve them with whole fat plain greek yogurt. Throw in some blueberries and I feel like he’s had a well-rounded meal on-the-go.  And on the off-chance we’re able to squeeze in lunch before we leave the house, these make for the perfect snack no matter where we are.

EcoMom, an online community and retail site that bridges the gap between mommy life and green living, generously sent us some mashups in flavors we hadn’t tried before, along with these jammy sammys which instantly became another favorite around here.  As great as it is to receive these samples, I get no compensation for passing on the good word about these products.  You, on the other hand, do get some compensation – EcoMom is offering one of my readers (chosen at random) $20 worth of Plum and/or Revolution Foods (we have yet to try the Plum goodies, but I’m sure they’re equally as delicious).  You can enter to win by leaving a comment here with your email address.  And, if you order these delicious goods from EcoMom.com, you’ll receive 15% off your first order from now until June 30, 2010 (enter promo code: SBBL406). Sure beats taking a 15 month old to Whole Foods when you can order online.  That is if you can get on to the computer for more than five minutes at a time. Bon Appetit.
